The US is fortunate in so many ways, but especially in our choice of enemies! In fact, if Iran were not already our enemy, we’d be falling over backwards to antagonize them so we could have a war with them. What kind of enemy tells you ahead of time what they plan to do? What kind of enemy attacks with weapons that they know can be shot down before they do any damage? What kind of enemy says, “OK, that’s all.” after failing to do any damage? Iran, that’s who! And we don’t have to court them, they already consider us the Great Satan!

Russia is not bad as enemies go. Sure, Ukraine is struggling with them, but that’s only because we won’t give them our very latest weapons and equipment that would finish Russia off in a minute. I don’t even worry about their nukes. True, the US is not in much of a fighting mode recently, but I think a single nuke could rouse us off the barstools and help us get serious about defense. And then Russia would be very sorry they tangled with us.

China, of course, is a genuine pain in the neck. But if they don’t start a shooting war over Taiwan soon, it will be too late. And their economy is in such a shambles, I’m not sure how patriotic their troops are nowadays. And then they will be facing the sad repercussions of their dalliance with family planning. Like, oops, we are missing a few workers and consumers and – serious oops – fighting age men (and women, of course).

I was getting so depressed over the sad state of affairs all around the world. But this weekend’s one day war between Israel and Iran really cheered me up. Except for the one Bedouin girl. I feel really sad for her, and I hope she recovers fully from her injuries. But otherwise, it was like New Year’s Eve or the Fourth of July, namely just fireworks in the sky.

Who knew war could be such fun!
